Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Harold Guiste, told the media on Friday 9th June 2017; They were also looking at the relationship between agriculture, the environment, and ecology of Dominica ……. We have a diversity of ecology in Dominica, such as rainforests, rivers …. so they are here to do some studies, and to get exposed to some new, different, and more natural than that to which they are exposed in Martinique and maybe in France. Guiste said “We are hoping that we will be able to conduct a second stage where we will be able to organize it better, because this one was in its infant stage of the relationship. So, we are hoping to build and reinforce this relationship, to work with them, and to possibly have exchanges with the agricultural department of the Dominica State College, and the college in Martinique”. Guiste thanked the Dominican farmers for facilitating the students on their farms and helping them understand foreign techniques and practices, by answering questions and demonstrating techniques.
