Director of the Dominica Social Security Janice Jean-Jacques Thomas says the DSS' greatest concern is the continued avoidance and evasion by workers engaged in the construction sector. She says that has always been a challenging area for the institution, noting that post Hurricane Maria that is a sector of significant growth. Meantime, Jean-Jacques-Thomas expresses appreciation to the Dominica Government for paying its contributions to the Dominica Social Security in a timely manner.
It is part of the Governments duty to ensure that its citizens social security is paid or able to be paid, and Mrs. Jean-Jacques referenced past years when the country’s citizens social securities were not being paid on time, and calls this “a thing of the past”. Mrs. Jean- Jacques continued to praise government for doing what is required of it, which is to ensure that its financial obligations are met in a timely manner, so its citizens can continue to benefit.
