Prime Minister Skerrit and the DLP administration have been touting the proposed construction of an international airport in Wesley for several years. He reiterated that last month.
During his address to Parliament some days ago, Agriculture Minister, Reginald Austrie said the site for the international airport in Wesley is the best location on the Island for such a facility. He said, “Late Prime Minister of Dominica Eugenia Charles told us that was the best site and we are going to put it there. The problem we had was the cost, but we have now made adequate provisions. Austrie also accused the opposition United Worker’s Party of being critical of various government projects geared at national development. He said, “Anybody or Anything that seeks to assist the country is being criticized by the United Worker’s Party”. Austrie also highlighted the World Bank funded Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project geared at reviving Agriculture in Dominica, saying the project will be a tremendous boost to the sector if it is executed correctly.
