Here is the Prime Minister’s speaking at a town hall meeting in Laudat on Wednesday evening. Linton says the DLP Government is involved in wasteful spending of funds acquired from the CBI program, and the treasury department. Linton says regardless of the Government’s claim that there is not enough money to increase pay for public servants, the Government’s oversized Cabinet alone amounts to over EC $600000, which Linton says would allow for 5% increase for the next three years for public officers.

Dollar Day is held annually when each child can make a contribution of at least one dollar to the Education Trust Fund.
According to a release, the Government of Dominica provides a yearly subvention to the Education Trust Fund established in 1981 through an act of parliament, to assist students experiencing difficulty attending Secondary School. Monies obtained through fundraising efforts assist with the purchase of books, transportation, registration and exam fees. Roseau South MP Joshua Francis says it is not certain at this time, as to whether the DLP Government will announce a general election soon. Addressing widespread recent rumours that a general election may be coming soon, Francis said he stands ready for any election which may be called in his constituency, however, he has no reason to believe that a general election will be called soon. According to Francis, UWP Team Dominica is in the process of building a large base of political supporters, to liberate Dominica at the polls, in the next General election. Meanwhile, Francis says any Government that undermines a country’s democracy, should be voted out of office.
He says the DLP Government has undermined the independence of the country’s core institutions, such as the electoral commission, in addition to its other indefensible acts against the country. As a result, UWP Team Dominica has taken on the responsibility of empowering the Dominican public to stand against the DLP.
