Electoral Commissioner, Hillary Shillingford, reveals how Former Chief Elections Officer, Ian Anthony, was sidelined by DLP-selected Electoral Commissioners, Alick Lawrence, Lennox Lawrence and Duncan Stowe - Despite these three Commissioners publicly praising Mr Ian Anthony, prior to his legal resignation. Shillingford added that the proposed female for the position of Chief Elections Officer, by the President of Dominica, Sylvanie Burton, to the Electoral Commission, is not suited for this position. Shillingford contends that it is a mistake for the government to have not amended the stipulations to increase the retirement age for the position of Chief Elections Officer. Currently the age limit is 55 years, however Hillary Shillingford is convinced that Anthony still has so much to contribute to the Elections Office, in expertise, experience and network.
