Jihad "Smokie Cut" Jean-Jacques has released a new song expressing his perception of Hurricane Maria, and the determination of Dominicans to recover. Smokie Cut was raised in Goodwill and he is a singer/song writer, producer and video director. According to him his musical journey began at the tender age of 7 however; he started recording professionally in 2001. In 2009 he did a jingle entitled "Doe Watch Me Watch Yourself" for (REtv) in Jamaica.
Pray for Dominica is the title of his new single. Jean Jacques told Q95news, the song is a tribute to the Hurricane Maria and Irma victims, as well as the people of Mexico who suffered major disasters resulting in severe devastation in recent times.
