Attorney General, Levi Peter, has accused members of the electoral commission of discussing the commission’s matters in public domain. During his presentation for the budget debate, Peter stated, these actions cannot be right and should be condemned. He believes commissioners who fail to conduct themselves in a proper manner should be removed from office. Meanwhile, members of the Electoral Commission Hillary Shillingford and Wayne James have fired back at Attorney General Levi Peter for his statements regarding the electoral commission discussing the commission’s matters in the public. Shillingford fired back saying, the commission’s business is the people’s business therefore he is not intimidated and will continue to report to the people of Dominica on all matters within the commission concerning the public. James also responded saying he too will not be deterred from conducting his duties on the Electoral commission.
He went on to call on the Attorney general to advise the prime minister to put the proper legislative framework in place whereby the commission will be able to conduct its mandated functions.
