Cabinet reshuffle also creates a new Ecclesiastics, Family and Gender Affairs Ministerial Portfolio4/12/2018 The DLP Administration’s new Cabinet reshuffle also creates a new Ministerial Portfolio of Minister of Ecclesiastical Family & Gender Affairs, in addition to a Minister of the Environment, Climate Resilience, Disaster Management and Urban Renewal
Roseau Central MP Joseph Isaac, who one week ago resigned from the Opposition United Workers Party will be part of what Prime Minister Skerrit describes as a ‘New Look’ Cabinet of Ministers. However, some have described the DLP Administration as now having the largest Cabinet in the World, per capita. Skerrit said he met with Isaac last week Thursday and “discussed with him and his delegation from the constituency of Roseau Central, their plans and vision going forward.” He added, “Consequent upon our meeting last Thursday, and after consultation with senior members of the government and governing Dominica Labour Party, I subsequently contacted Mr. Isaac and extended to him an invitation to serve in the government of Dominica in the capacity as a minister of government. Hon. Isaac, after consulting with his key advisors, accepted that invitation and will therefore feature in the new look Cabinet of Ministers that I am about to announce.” “He shall, therefore, as of Thursday, 12th April, serve as a Minister of Government in the service of the people of Dominica.
