CCM raises $11,000 towards Opposition Leader's Legal fees so far through radio-thon on Q95FM Radio1/12/2018 President of the Concern Citizens Movement Loftus Durand has revealed that his organization has raised $11,000 towards assisting the Leader of the Opposition with his legal fees. He says that the funds are being raised through a radio-thon. Chartered Accountant Kieron Pinard-Byrne has instructed his attorneys to serve Opposition Leader Lennox Linton with a bankruptcy petition in a long running defamation matter between them. According to the petition, Linton owes Pinard Byrne just shy of £25,000 in outstanding payments in a final judgement made by the Judicial committee of the Privy council in a court matter. Meantime, Mr. Durand has justified the rationale behind the organization's drive to raise the necessary finds for the opposition leader. Mr Durand says although his organization sympathizes with those affected by Hurricane Maria, he calls on citizens to stand up against the injustice shown against the opposition leader. President of the Concern Citizens Movement Loftus Durand Meanwhile, Attorney Anthony Astaphan is saying with the current situation that exists in Dominica, the fact that so many people need help, the move by Mr Durand and his organization is obsolete at this time.
