Certified Team Diagnostic Facilitator Martha Cuffy has returned from the UK, to deliver what she describes as an inspiring course, in collaboration with UWI Open Campus Dominica. The course offers participants a more personal journey into their own leadership, beyond intellectual conversations.
In this program dubbed Leadership Presence, participants experience the process of what it means to step up, speak and connect with those who may not be known to you. Participants grow, as they benefit from the rare opportunity to receive feedback and guidance from peers and tutors, in a safe constructive environment. They are both challenged and supported to be themselves, and be most compassionate & impactful. Participants are expected to finish the course with a clearer view of how they impact others, the uniqueness of their presence, and how they can work on developmental needs identified during the programme. Martha Cuffy is the course tutor who, in September, will also facilitate a leadership retreat at Windsor Castle, for Black and Asian Leaders, together with Shirley McAlpine also of Dominican descent, who has been a guest tutor on the course. Cuffy says “This is to inspire Dominicans to focus on finding and expressing the leader within themselves rather than pointing and finding blame with leaders out there. They practice core coaching skills which make them more effective at work and home, even within the timeframe of the course. They also get to assess situations using systems thinking which always surprises them with its insights.”
