Chief Cultural Officer calls on Dominicans to recommit their efforts to build a brighter future8/17/2017 As Dominica approaches thirty nine years of independence, Dominicans are being called on to recommit their efforts to help build a brighter future. Speaking at the official media launch of Independence Celebrations 2017, Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence called on all Dominicans to recommit their efforts to help build a brighter future for themselves in a spirit of togetherness and purpose. He says as Dominica approaches another season, this theme should serve as a new commitment to building and striving for the best for Dominica. This year, Dominica will celebrate its thirty–ninth anniversary of independence with a plethora of activities promoting the country’s heritage and unity of its people under the theme “Building a Brighter Future Together”. Meanwhile, next year Dominica will celebrate 40 years of independence and to commemorate such an occasion the Government of Dominica has decided to celebrate with a reunion. Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence announced the reunion will continue throughout the year 2018. He says the reunion committee will soon reveal their activities planned for such a significant year in Dominican history. Reunion Year 2018 will be celebrated under the theme " My Love, My Home, My Dominica".
