Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence says Dominicans should continue to promote both dimensions of the Creole culture. That is the traditional and the contemporary. Lawrence says so far, he thinks this has been done successfully. He was speaking at the media launch of the Dominica 2019 media country conference. Meantime Lawrence says there is always room for improvement, calling for greater support and encouragement to the various aspects of cultural expression. Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence Meanwhile, Local Historian Dr Lennox Honeychurch has called on Dominican builders and contractors to revert to architectural patterns of times past, that is which existed before Hurricane David.Honeychurch says the architecture of the indigenous people then, transferred with the materials that were used to the African traditions of architecture, and then to mainly French European concepts. He is among presenters for the August 2019 Dominica Country Conference.
