PM Roosevelt Skerrit has confirmed that the Chinese Government offered tremendous relief support since the passage of the Hurricane. Meantime, the Government of Dominica has expressed its gratitude to the Government of the People's republic of China, for its generous support to emergency relief and building efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. In addition to supplying emergency material immediately following the hurricane, the PRC provided US$800,000 to Dominica for emergency relief. Finally, a generous allocation of US$14M has been made to Dominica by the government of the PRC for post disaster restoration. Minister for Foreign Affairs & Caricom Affairs Francine Baron applauded the contribution of the PRC, as yet another example of its commitment to South-south co-operation, as an indication of the strong ties of friendship existing between the PRC & the Commonwealth of Dominica.
