Stakeholders within the construction industry here will this week be exposed to a greater knowledge and understanding of the best practices in construction as Dominica rebuilds in a resilient manner. Jars Sales & Services and Simpson Strong have collaborated in hosting a training symposium Thursday April 5th at the St Alphonsus Parish Hall in Goodwill aimed at demonstrating the proper installation of timber ties particularly as it related to the building of ropes. Jars Sales & Services is primarily known in the construction industry for road works, retaining walls and water tanks, and is the supplier of Simpson Strong ties on the island. Steve Astaphan says the first session will be for technical stakeholders. Simpson Strong tie is one of the so-called world leaders in the construction industry, providing customers with products that enhance the strength and safety of their structures. There will be items on display at the training symposium. Astaphan believes he has a corporate responsibility to play a part in helping Dominica achieve its goal of becoming a climate resilient nation. And this symposium he says is just one of the ways it is doing so. Steve Astaphan of Jars Sales & Services
