Criminologist and Sociologist Dr Peter St Jean advises that crime and violence in Dominica needs to be understood in the context of what’s going on the Caribbean region
Criminologist and Sociologist, Dr. Peter St Jean briefly alluded to Dominica’s 1996 empirical tradition which looks at its affairs pertaining to crime and violence, and stated that issues of crime and violence need to be understood in the context of what’s going on the Caribbean region.
St. Jean made mention of a 2012 study commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) researching the empirical approach, asserting individuals have to be mindful of the implications of the Caribbean’s geographical location in reference to crime and violence.
St. Jean was speaking on the ‘Global View on Q’ program hosted by Sheridan “Mr. G’ Gregoire (Mr G) last night, Tuesday 13th August 2019.
St. Jean questioned the lack of belief in science when faced with issues such as crime and violence.
