President of the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities (DAPD) Irma Raymond-Joseph has deemed the Association’s new project dubbed ‘Natural Disasters and Persons with Disabilities, the Hurricane Maria Experience in Dominica,’ as timely. The training program is one component of the project with 60-minute documentary forming another part. The project is funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and will be held from 27th to 28th February 2018. The facilitators for this training project will be Tina Alexander, Irma Raymond Joseph, Mrs Nathalie Murphy and Kathlyn Robinson. Meantime, Joseph calls for greater inclusion, and investment in the Association by government and other stakeholders. According to Joseph, due to stakeholders sidelining of DAPD in important matters, the executive of the DAPD was forced to go out of its way to create its own two-day training program, on psychological First aid.
