DAVA presented volleyballs to its membership at a small presentation ceremony at the DOC Main Office8/21/2018 On Friday August 17, 2018, the Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association (DAVA) presented volleyballs to its membership at a small presentation held at the DOC main Office.
Representatives of all but two (2) teams on island were present to receive the equipment. Although the association was severely impacted by Hurricane Maria in 2017, Officials from DAVA have state that the association was able to host a business league, some exhibition matches and has provided support to various competitions around the island. Although all the activities have been hailed as successful, it is hoped that the equipment received will ensure teams are better able to train and participate in the 2018 National Volleyball League, which commences on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at the St. Joseph Hard Court at 3:30pm. Meanwhile, teams are invited to the last organized competition before the commencement of the league presented by the St. Joseph Volleyball Team. This is a ‘4 on 4’ competition carded for Sunday 26th August 2018 at the St. Joseph Hard Court at 4:00pm. All Teams are advised to register and take advantage of this opportunity to warm up before the league commences.
