DCOA to hold its 22nd AGM on 31st May 2017 under theme ‘Embracing Older Persons Everywhere’5/29/2017 The Dominica Council On Ageing (DCOA) Inc., the lead advocacy organization for the welfare of Older Persons in Dominica, in its 24th year of operation, will be hosting its 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Fort Young Hotel on 31st May 2017, under the theme: “Embracing Older Persons Everywhere.”
The first session of the day’s proceedings will be addressed by the outgoing President of the DCOA Mrs. Zetma Toussaint, as well as the Minister for Social Services Hon. Catherine Daniel. His Excellency Ambassador Hubert Charles will deliver the feature address on the aforementioned theme. The President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin and Mrs. Savarin will be in attendance, as well as several corporate entities representatives, some of which will be honoured on that day. At the business session of the AGM, members will be presented, among others, the report of the Board of Directors, the report of the Auditor on the financial status of the organization. A major feature will be the election of a new Board of Directors to charter the business of the organization for the next two years. The DCOA’s membership is made up of individuals’ island-wide, and 32 affiliate groups representing over 1200 Older Persons.
