High Court Judge, Victoria Charles-Clarke had summoned Police Chief Daniel Carbon or his Deputy to the court to answer as to why no police officer was present at the High Court on Thursday morning. A number of matters which had to be dealt with had to be suspended as no police officer reported for duty. Justice Charles- Clarke was not amused and stated that the court was not properly constituted and it was disrespectful. Acting Deputy Valerie said “We regret what happened due to some miscommunication between the police and the court ... It is not a regular thing, and we regret what happened, and deeply apologize to Her Ladyship and the court.” Charles-Clarke commended Valerie for responding to her concerns and for immediately coming to the court to address the matter. “We need to have better collaboration between the court and the police” she said. It is protocol that police officers are present during court proceedings to provide security.
