Economist and DFP Leader Kent Vital is advising Dominicans to understand the amount of money pledged to Dominica, from the Donors conference held on November 20th to the 21st 2017, may not necessarily come quickly. Vital commended the Government for its efforts, but emphasized that false hope must not be created in that regarded. He says the estimated amount of $1 billion dollars announced by Dominica’s Prime Minister will not be easily drawn down from the international community. The DFP Leader provided three main recommendations that Government should adopt, if they plan to get the estimated amount, as announced, from the international community. Economist and DFP Leader Kent Vital, Vital spoke to Q95 news in an exclusive interview on Monday Meawhile, Vital has expressed appreciation for the Donations made by the Americas Relief Team (ART) on 7th December 2017, and The St Lucia Diabetes and Hypertension Association (SLDHA) on 4th December 2017. ART provided the Dominica Red Cross with a donation of nine generators, and SLDHA provided Dominica with a large donation of insulin to be delivered to all Diabetic individuals in the country. The Ministry of Health and Wellness through the Central Procurement Unit facilitated the safe storage of the medication. Kent says this is needed and will benefit Dominica in its process of recovery.
