For the first time in over 50 years an alternative telecommunications service provider apart from the incumbent has been awarded a contract to provide telecommunication services to the government of Dominica. Ag Prime Minister Reginald Austrie says this is a clear indication that the government decision making process is keeping the principles of transparency, and is non-discriminatory with an award being made on merit processes and established protocols.
