Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) launches the final component of its local awareness campaign5/24/2017 The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) over the past three months embarked on an intense local tourism awareness campaign, geared at increasing public knowledge of the importance of the tourism industry, and fostering positive attitudes and behavior among the local population and students.
Today, the DDA launched its final component of the three (3) months long campaign: #TourismIsMyBusiness Social Media Challenge. According to a release, the #TourismIsMyBusiness Social Media Challenge is geared at raising awareness of the Campaign and helping individuals to realize that Tourism is indeed Our Business. This component is meant to be shareable and inclusive, allowing the public to interact with the messaging, by using it in their social media posts, and encouraging others to do the same through the challenge. This Challenge runs from Monday, 22nd May to Monday 29th May 2017. Individuals can participate by producing a short video with details as to how tourism is impacted through their work. The video should be uploaded on Facebook using the hashtag #TourismIsMyBusiness. The contest is also open to businesses who will record a fun video, which gives a brief description of the business, what it does, and ends with one or more employees saying “Tourism is my Business”. Contest details can be found on the Discover Dominica Authority Facebook Page. The DDA says it is hopeful that the campaign will help cultivate positive attitudes among the general public.
