DLP Government to sign an MOU with Russia to facilitate best practices in planning and mitigation2/26/2018 Dominica's National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore says government is looking forward to signing an MOU between the government and Dominica and the Russian government that will set the platform for embarking on exchanges which speak to best practices in the areas of planning and mitigation. He made the announcement at the handing over of 12 containers which include 280 tons of relief supplies, 50 tons of food supplies and 2 mobile stations among other items at the Woodbridge Bayport on Friday to the government of Dominica amounting to several thousand dollars. Blackmoore says the supplies are timely as restoration efforts continue. Mr Blackmoore told the handing over ceremony it is going to be very difficult as the country bounces back, and Dominica will need every form of support at every step of the journey. National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore Meanwhile Deputy PM of EMACOM, the Emergency Situations of Russia, Dr Igo Vasselov says the Russian government will also look at utilizing their expertise to assist in certain dangerous areas in Dominica. Vasselov says his government was very receptive when it received a letter of request from Dominica's PM Roosevelt Skerrit, to assist the country in its rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Maria.
