President of the Dominica Manufacturer’s Association and spokesperson for the private sector, church and civil society group, Severin McKenzie, shared his opinion of the panel discussion organized by the electoral commission recently on electoral reform, saying the biggest disappointment was the deployment of police officers in full gear. However, he believes the panel discussion held by the commission signals the continuation of the discussion on the way forward for electoral reforms. He spoke briefly of the postponed public discussion being organized by the private sector, church and civil society group carded for Tuesday 28th May at the PSU, and stated the dialogue has to continue. Severin has said anytime there is a level of instability in the country it is the private citizens and the private sector that suffer.
