Speaking to Q95 news on Thursday, Public Relations Officer of the Dominica National Council of Women (DNCW), Josephine Dublin Prince expressed her views and that of the DNCW regarding the death of Iconic Dominican Figure, Former Educator and Former Minister for Community Development and Women Affairs, Gertrude Roberts. 90-year-old Gertrude Roberts passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2019. Dublin-Prince praised Roberts for her tremendous work in strengthening the NGO’s in Dominica, as well as her effective approach in her ministry meeting the needs of the elderly among other things. According to Dublin-Prince, Gertrude made history in 1995 by presenting plans which once implemented, would revolutionize the advancement of women in various areas of society, unfortunately these plans where adopted by Beijing and formed part of their National plan of action in that year.
