Over the last five years Dominica Business Systems (dBiz) has maintained its commitment to providing support to parents who need assistance to ensure their children have all textbooks needed to complete their high school tenure.
The Book Scholarship idea was birthed after receiving a request for assistance from the parents of the scholarships first recipient five years ago. Recipients are expected to maintain at least a B average and stay out of trouble. No detentions or suspensions are permitted and students must be promoted at the end of every year. According to dBiz Sales Marketing Manager Mrs. Shari Pascal – Maronie, “Discipline is the main charge we give to them; they are after all representing our company just as much as they represent their parents and themselves.” On Monday morning, Coann Lockhart, Casel John and Jovanni Burgins students of the St. Mary’s Academy and new Pierre Charles Secondary School student Ashay Stevens, accompanied by their parents received their textbooks ensuring that the upcoming 2017- 2018 school year will leave no page unturned.
