Dominica State College places 2nd runner up at this year’s 5th annual Sir Arthur Lewis regional debating competition. Dominica debated the topic “countries have a right to impose vaccine mandates to protect the health of their populations.” as opposed to the topic. Dominica was represented by Hananel Valerie, and Mr. Noah James. Dominica State College had advanced to the Finals with Noah James, Samine Darroux, Shawnalee Gordon, and Hananel Valerie, as they debated against Grenada (T.A Marry show Community College) on the topic, “The shift to virtual learning during the pandemic exposed regional governments’ failure to successfully integrate ICT into our education systems." At the Semi-Finals, Dominica State College got 609 points, and TA Marryshow Community College got 603 points, and the best Speaker was dubbed Hananel Valerie (DSC).
