Dominicans questioning Government and Police silence on vandalism acts against opposition members3/24/2017 Dominicans are now questioning the deafening silence of Government and the Police Authorities, on acts of vandalism being openly committed on the vehicles of opposition members. Executive member of the Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) Dr. Sam Christian, reported to Q95fm Radio Hot Seat show today Friday, that he had made a report to the Police in Dominica, that his vehicle which was parked outside of his medical office on Bath Road, was vandalized. Dr. Christian feels this act was politically motivated, and indicates the deterioration in political ethics in Dominica. The incident took place just one week after the tires of a vehicle belonging to Mr Thomas Letang, General Secretary of the Dominica Public Service Union (DPSU), were punctured. The DPSU was holding a solidarity rally the day the incident took place. The DFP Executive Member also made reference to a request he made recently to the Chief of Police Daniel Carbon, about acquiring parking space for his patients outside his office. Dr. Christian says his legal request was turned down, and that his request is now under review by the town council. Meanwhile, United Workers Party (UWP) Senator Dr. Thompson Fontaine also disclosed that over the past week, the tires of his vehicle were punched. He said that he changed four tires over the past days, and has seen nails in them.
Dominicans are expressing great concern about these criminal acts of vandals, and are wondering why is it that government officials and law enforcement authorities are continuing to remain silent, in the face of these atrocious acts of vandalism against members of the opposition in Dominica.
