DOMLEC has made some $12.88 Million Profits after tax deductions for the Financial Year 2015/20165/10/2017 The Dominica Electricity Services Limited (DOMLEC) has made some $12.88-million in profits, after tax deductions for the financial year 2015/2016.
This represents a 5% increase over the previous financial year’s profits, according to the company’s manager, Bertillia McKenzie.She said the figures were disclosed at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) last week. McKenzie said the shareholders were pleased with the results for 2016. She added that “All of the key metrics which we used to measure performance, indicated that DOMLEC had a successful year”. According to McKenzie, not only did profits increase by 5%, but sales also increased by 5%, while keeping all expenses at a comfortably low level. She said their customers consumed 4.6% more electricity, in comparison to the previous year, which she described as excellent news for the company, and for Dominica by extension. She added, “This is excellent news for the country as a whole, as our results indicated that our reliability to our customers increased by 42 %. We carried out a survey last year, and the customers did indicate to us that our service quality also improved”.
