The Dominica Water & Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) has awarded 2 scholarships to students commencing high school in the new academic year. The scholarships which are valued at $750,000 annually are for a 5-year period. The two new recipients are Malik Hosea Philip of Portsmouth and Jariah Ofsen of Capuchin. Both students will attend the Portsmouth Secondary school. This year, the company received 75 applications, and it was the first year where both scholarships were awarded to students of DOWASCO customers. Customer Service & Human Resource Manager at DOWASCO Jeannette Ellis said the company is seeking to compliment the vision of the government, to eradicate poverty in Dominica. The company is also continuing its scholarships to 6 students attending high school. They are Jayden Austrie, Al Bruno, Kermisha Eli, Zaydan Lochart, Esel Green and Nia Lochart.
