DPSU General Secretary Thomas Letang’s discovered this morning, that that his Car Tyres were punctured last night, but he is not intimidated, and vows to continue fighting for a salary increase for Public Officers in Dominica. The vehicle was parked in his yard all night. He told Q95’s Hot Seat Host Matt Peltier his morning, “when I got up this morning, my vehicle was parked right in my yard, not even on the road, but all four tires were punctured, all four of them”. The DPSU is holding a highly anticipated solidarity meeting today Thursday from 4:30 pm, to discuss matters affecting public servants, including a proposal by government offering them 0% salary increase for three years. The DPSU has rejected the DLP governments offer. Letang says he remains unmoved by the tyre puncturing incident, since his life has been threatened in the past.
However, he dispelled rumours that he had announced Opposition Leader Lennox Linton, would be addressing the rally and said, “We have been saying over and over that that our feature address would be given by John Alexis our former president”. Letang claims there is a move to try and prevent people from attending the rally, and detractors have decided to attack him personally. He stands resolute in his determination to fight for public officers, and added, “I am also standing for my children, I am standing for my children’s children, I am standing for generations to come”. He described the perpetrators of the act on his car tyres as cowards and sent them this message, “I want to say to those cowards that I am not afraid”.
