Q95news has received reports that Events and Festivals Manager of the Dominica Festival Committee Val Cuffy, has resigned for reasons many conclude are ‘questionable.’
It is being said that while Mr Cuffy spoke as Masters of Ceremony at the Semi Finals of Dominica’s Calypso Competition, certain political figures did not approve of some of the words that he uttered, as he sought to defend himself against the massive audience gathered at the Newtown Savannah on 27th January 2018, with respect to a letter which Cuffy had written to 8-time calypso Monarch Dennison ‘King Dice’ Joseph. On 26th January 2018, prolific Calypsonian Dennison ‘Dice’ Joseph was pressured by the DFC not to perform his new hit song ‘Looters,’ However Dice publicly said if the committee wants him to perform at their event, he must be allowed to perform his song. Moments before the event that same day, Dice was served a formal letter telling him that his services were no longer required by DFC, and the letter was signed by then Events and Festivals Manager of the Dominica Festival Committee Val Cuffy. Q95 news was unofficially informed by a source, that Cuffy said he quit because, he could not take it, anymore.
