Foreign Affairs Minister Francine Baron says in the case of Dominica the scientific model show, that even at the lowest prediction of a 1metre sea level rise, 14% of the island's road network would be lost. Additionally she says food supply, and rural livelihoods in Dominica would be negatively impacted by 5% as a result of the loss of agricultural land. Speaking on the CREAD which was taken to parliament on Wednesday, Baron says the CREAD will have three main objectives. Meanwhile she says in an addition to legislating, the CREAD will keep its stakeholders engaged and informed. This bill also reportedly dictates that at least once every 6 months, the Chief Executive Officer of CREAD will report to a committee of the house of assembly or a CREAD parliamentary oversight committee that is established under the standing orders of the house.
