Former Parliamentarian & deceased N A N Ducreay will get an Official Funeral today Wednesday July 197/19/2017 Former Parliamentarian and deceased Nicholas A N Ducreay will get an Official funeral today Wednesday July 19, 2017. Government declared a day of mourning on Wednesday, as a mark of respect for the former member of the House of assembly. The Dominica flag flies at half-staff on all public buildings in the state today.
Mr Ducreay contested the election on August 15th 1957, for the Roseau North Electoral District, and won his seat as an Independent candidate. In the general election of 1961, N A N Ducreay won again in Roseau North, this time under the DLP led by E O Leblanc. He took his oath of office as Minister for Trade and Production on 2nd February 1961 at the age of 30. On 7th January 1966, he won his seat again under the DLP, and took his oath as Minister of trade & Industry on January 21st. President and Mrs Savarin, the Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit and other members of cabinet, members of the House of Assembly and other government officials, are expected to attend the funeral service for Mr Nicholson Alexander Nathaniel Ducreay. Public viewing of the body will be from 2pm - 2:55pm at Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral in Roseau. The Official Funeral service begins at 3pm. The late N A N Ducreay will be laid to rest at the Roseau Roman Catholic Cemetery.
