A former scholarship recipient who pursued studies in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has described as unfortunate the ongoing crisis in that country. Hannah St Jean-Serrant who, a current employee at the Venezuelan Embassy, undertook a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource management for 5 years in Venezuela. Serrant said that even while pursuing studies in Venezuela, there were talks about the level of insecurity in the country which has since escalated. At present, opposition forces are seeking to remove the government of President Nicolas Maduro by staging daily street demonstrations that have so far resulted in the death of more than 80 people. On Wednesday, Venezuelans residing in Dominica along with government officials, embassy officials, Petro Caribe employees and well wishers gathered at Bolivarian Square in Goodwill to mark the 206 Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
