Freedom Party Leader recommends creation of new group to promote & preserve Dominica's democracy

Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party Kent Vital has recommended the establishment of a new grouping to help promote and preserve democracy in Dominica.
 
Vital told a national consultation on Electoral reform at the Goodwill parish hall Tuesday morning that the grouping should not comprise mainly of political parties.

Tuesday morning's national consultation on electoral reform was organized by the Concern Citizens movement and heard presentations from political parties, trade unions, Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches and the Dominica bar association.

Meantime, Vital says the main issue which prevents most Caribbean countries from reaching their Development goals, is the matter of proper governance practices.

​Vital says there are two elements which fuels this failure in proper leadership practices within the Caribbean.

Vital says integrity is needed now more than ever in Dominica’s political arena.
 
Vital emphasized the need for individuals of good character to be selected to lead the Dominican people into a more prosperous future. He posed the question, “How do we arrive at appropriate policy and strategies?”
