Freelance Journalist reports on more calypso controversy as ‘Sye’ was awarded Road March King for 2017

​Freelance Journalist Carlisle Jno Baptiste has reported that there is more calypso controversy, as ‘Sye’ was awarded Road March King for 2017. According to Jno Baptiste, there appears to be major contention brewing among ranking members of the Dominica Calypso Association (DCA), regarding the choice between Calypsonians ‘Sye’ and ‘Lady V’ for the Road March King title.
 
The Dominica Calypso Association is responsible for deciding the winner, but unconfirmed information indicates that the executive stands divided on the decision in favour of ‘Sye’ Vs ‘Lady V’ for Road March King.

​Meantime DCA Member and Calypso Enthusiast Alex Bruno has added his voice, in an effort to clear the air on brewing controversy surrounding the award of the 2017 Road March Title.
 
Bruno apologized for not having had knowledge of the official results of the 2017 Road March competition, prior to his post on Facebook, suggesting that Calypsonian ‘Lady V’ would likely be awarded the 2017 Road March Title, based on his personal observation of what songs appeared to have been played the most on the road, on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
