Three fishing teams in the Loubiere Community are said to be in a better position to augment their livelihoods as the Government on Friday handed over three 20-foot fiber glass boats to these men. Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said these boats valued at over $100,000 will help advance the fishing community of Loubiere. The vessels will be equipped with built in coolers and safety The fishing teams who have benefitted are Jason Telemacque and Yannick Lawrence, Emmanuel Seraphine and Earl Warrington and Kernal Jack and Len Walter. Following the ceremony the recipients all seemed excited to express their thanks for their much needed tools. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Skerrit vowed to the recipients, that the government would soon return to provide business training to aid these fishermen in the management of their trade.
He says, the government has made an investment in these men and he hopes to see them as successful individuals in their trade not only locally but in the Caribbean.
