Group of media persons plan to form a ‘New Media Association’ to be named ‘Dominica Press Corps’8/28/2017 (L-R) Keisha Polydore (Secretary), Kirshena Joseph (Assistant Secretary), Sheena Harry (Public Relations Officer), Garvin Richards (President), Edona Jno Baptiste (Vice President) and Chad George (Treasurer) Reports indicate that a Group of media persons in Dominica plan to form a New Media Association to be named the ‘Dominica Press Corps’. The group is said to have met on Saturday August 26 2017, at the Media Center of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, and voted in favour of establishing a new association to represent the interest of Media Workers on Island. Those present reportedly voted that the new organization should be called the ‘Dominica Press Corps’. An Interim Committee was reportedly elected comprising: Garvin Richards - President Edona Jno Baptiste - Vice President Keisha Polydore - Secretary Kirshena Joseph - Assistant Secretary Chad George - Treasurer Sheena Harry - Public Relations Officer The Interim Executive was reportedly mandated to prepare a constitution and put things in place to hold its first Annual General Meeting, at a date to be announced, where an official executive will be elected to carry out its affairs. The Dominica Press Corp says it already has close to 50 members. That's according to Interim PRO Sheena Harry. She says the new association is aware of the many challenges ahead.
