Dominican, William Barber is being hailed a hero for saving the lives of two young children who were trapped in a burning building Wednesday night.
Barber said he was riding his bicycle when he noticed the blaze at the home at the junction of Tanner and Cross streets in Antigua.
He told state media after trying the front door with no success he tried to push his way through a window, but this also proved futile.
It was reported that a 6, 3 and 2-year-old were all alone at the time of the fire and the eldest had escaped to seek help.
One of the children was kept overnight at the hospital while the two others were treated and discharged.
