Hotelier Atherton Martin says more Headline Shows will significantly boost tourist arrivals year-round

​Hotelier and Former Agriculture Minister Atherton Martin is calling on Government, event organizers and hotel owners, to create and promote more headline shows in Dominica, as a means of significantly increasing Tourism arrivals in Dominica.
Martin is of the view that there are not enough headline shows held throughout the year in Dominica. He says World Creole Music Festival, Creole in the Park, Carnival, Cadencelypso competition, and Calypso shows during the Carnival season are not enough. 

​Meanwhile, Martin laments international artist Nasio Fontaine has never headlined Dominica famous World Creole Music Festival.
Martin questions how could it be that one of Dominica’s very own international artists who has entertained millions across the globe with his unique style and sound has never graced a WCMF stage. 

​Martin went on to describe alleged statements by Tourism Minister Robert Tonge regarding the reason to which Fontaine had not performed, as a disrespectful view of someone of Fontaine’s stature.
He argued, Fontaine’s nativity to Dominica only adds to reasons by which he should be the headline act.
