In order for the Caribbean region to accelerate strong climate action, access to finance continues to be a major obstacle, and member states, partners, and representatives explored gaps and how to fill them, as well as presented an overview of opportunities and barriers from a variety of very pertinent viewpoints. They also shared their experiences and thoughts on funding decarbonization and building resilience. For tiny economies vulnerable to the effects of climate change, Dr. Didacus Jules, Director General of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Commission, underlines the importance of strategic investment in vital infrastructure. If the quality of vital infrastructure in the Caribbean is to be improved, it is necessary to determine targeted solutions with affordable and participatory financing alternatives & appropriate responsive capability, among other things.
