Kent Vital and Dr Sam Christian to contest for Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) on Sunday

The Dominica Freedom Party will hold it Delegates Convention on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Dominica Public Service Union Conference Room, under the theme "DFP Responding to the Call, Uniting Dominica” commencing at 3pm with an open session.
 
The Open Session will hear addresses from Mr. Michael Astaphan, the current Political Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party, and Mr Kerr Pierre, President of the Young Freedom Movement among others. The Keynote address will be delivered by Mr Crispin Gregoire, Dominica’s former Ambassador to the United Nations.
 
During the Business Session delegates will elect the following officers to serve the Party for One year: Political Leader, Deputy Political Leader, Chairman, Deputy Chairman, General Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant General Secretary and Assistant Treasurer. The Convention is expected to put the Party on a sound footing, to move forward.
 
Two (2) members have registered their interest to contest for the office of Political Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party.
 
Mr. Kent Vital, who is an Economist who worked for a cumulative period of over fifteen (15) years with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). He also worked for a brief period as Chief Executive Officer of Invest Dominica, and is presently a consultant engaged with governments and organizations in the region.
 
And Dr Samuel Christian, who is a medical Doctor, who has worked in Dominica and overseas with much experience in his field, and has been involved in civic and community development activities. He presently operates and manages a medical practice in Dominica.
