Lennox Linton offers to pay $300 monthly to Kieron Pinard Byrne with respect to a defamation lawsuit7/10/2017 Lennox Linton has offered to pay $300 monthly to Kieron Pinard Byrne, with respect to payments arising from a defamation lawsuit. The Registrar of the Privy Council certified Kieron Pinard Byrne’s bill of costs on 27th April 2017, and ordered Linton to pay 45,952 pounds sterling.
Linton’s offer to pay EC $300.00 monthly, was issued by Attorney David Bruney on his behalf, and was communicated to Pinard Byrne’s Attorney Lisa DeFreitas, in a letter dated 26th June 2017. Bruney’s letter indicated that Linton had already paid 43.5% of that Order for costs and, was now offering to pay EC $300.00 monthly, towards the outstanding balance. However, Pinard Byrne has rejected that offer and has reportedly instructed his lawyer to proceed with enforcement proceedings against Linton. Pinard Byrne appears to be insisting that he is not inclined to accept any piecemeal offer of settlement from Linton, and that he will pursue the matter to great lengths in order to recover his costs. Linton has already made two payments to Pinard-Byrne on this defamation lawsuit, but he still has one additional payment to be assessed by the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, in connection with the appeal process in that case. That law suit arose out of a statement made by Linton on a radio station in 2002.
