LIAT advises impending passage of Hurricane Irma may affect several destinations in its network9/4/2017 A LIAT advisory has indicated that the impending passage of Hurricane Irma may affect several destinations in its network. Official sources indicate Hurricane Irma is expected to move over or near the north eastern Leeward Islands. LIAT says it will continue to monitor the official advisories, and will advise passengers of any changes to its operations.
Passengers who have flights over the next week, 4th to 11th September, to islands north of Dominica that may be in the projected path, will be allowed to make changes to their reservations. LIAT says it will waive all fees for these changes over the next week. Passengers are urged to contact LIAT’s Call Centre toll-free from destinations in the Caribbean, at 1-888-844-LIAT (5428), for rebooking at their earliest convenience. Passengers who wish to call Antigua from any other Countries can call dial 1-268-480-5601/2 For those calling within Antigua are asked to please call 480-5582 Passengers calling from Barbados can dial 1-246 434 5428 LIAT also wishes to advise that passengers who decide to travel, but are unable to complete their journey due to disruption caused by weather conditions, will not be provided with meals, transportation, hotel accommodation etc. Passengers with onward connections are advised to contact the respective regional and international carriers. Persons are asked to continue to monitor their local media and weather reports. LIAT says it will continue to monitor the progress of the storm, and will issue further updates and advisories via its website (www.liat.com), and on its social media platforms.
