Dupuis (left); Labad (right) Two men who died in an accident under the Canefield Cliff, along the EO Leblanc Highway close to the Lyndhurst Funeral Home, on Friday 23rd June at about 8:45 pm, have been identified as Marcus Dupuis who was 39 years old, and Kareem Labad who was 21.
Police reported on Saturday that the accident involved a Mitsubishi pick-up truck, which was traveling northwards, and a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. Dupuis and Labad, both from Canefield, were on the motorcycle. Police said their investigation have so far revealed that the pick-up was turning off the highway into a side road, and the motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction, when that “major” collision occurred. Both vehicles were extensively damaged, and the two riders on the motorcycle died from the injuries they received. Other persons involved in the accident are said to be in stable condition, and are reportedly assisting the police with their investigation. They are calling on motorists to be very careful when driving, and to avoid the temptation to speed on the roads.
