Opposition Leader and Marigot MP, Lennox Linton, has responded to claims circulating on social media as it relates to scholarships obtained by his children to attend boarding schools in the U.S.
An article circulating on social media accused the MP of using his authority to secure scholarships for his children being offered through a program operated by the Marigot Development Corporation (MDC). The MDC, every year offers an opportunity for students under 17 years to study in the United States. This year, $6.1M was secured for 16 students to study in the U.S. However, the Marigot MP has denied these claims. In an official statement released Friday, he said the Marigot MP has no authority where this program is concerned and has no control over who receives scholarships.
