Leader of the United Workers & MP for the Marigot constituency, Lennox Linton, is questioning the lack of urgency of the Ministry of Health, in building the long proposed and promised new Marigot Hospital. On March 28, 2018, Dominica’s Health Minister Dr Kenneth Darroux stated that his ministry plans to begin demolition of the existing abandoned hospital structure; and announced plans to build a new hospital on the existing site. The Marigot MP said he is aware of the premature deaths of some of his constituents following Hurricane Maria, due to what he says is the lack of urgency of the Ministry of Health, to assist the citizens of Dominica in the East & North of the island, having failed to build a major hospital in Marigot, which would serve the communities of the east and the north. Meantime, Linton has made it clear that the Marigot Constituency will say thank you to the government of Dominica after the completion of the Marigot Hospital, which he says was first promised to his constituents in 2012. Linton added, that it has been far too long since the promise was made by the ministry of Health to construct a major hospital in the Marigot Constituency. He spoke to Q95 FM Radio on 30thMarch 2018 Leader of the United Workers Party Lennox Linton
