The scholarships which are for a 5-year period, are awarded to students from communities served by the NCCU. The students are Kerel Joseph of Massacre, Danisha Noel of Laudat, Dominic Titre of Morne Prosper, Joyce Rihanna Stewart of Pichelin, Ricki-Anna Rolle of Upper Canefield East, Tersel Rolle of Wotten Waven, Jaheim Augustine of Warner, TaiQuanda Davis of Kingshill, Eric Philogen of Bath Estate, Latisha Alexander of Fond Cole, Blake Diego Honore of Thibaud, Donnel Leblanc of Vielle Case, Kersia Kerlyne Alfred of Scotts Head, Beatrice Thomas of Castle Bruce and Kira Alexis of Penville. President of the Board of Directors of the NCCU Josephine Dublin says in excess of EC$75,000 has been spent in scholarships for the academic year 2016/2017. The 2017 scholarship award ceremony was held on Wednesday at the DPSU Conference Room in Roseau. Dublin says the NCCU remains committed to the youth of Dominica.
