New DOC President publicly invites the Dominica Netball Association to become part of the DOC again

​New DOC President Billy Doctrove publicly invites the Dominica Netball Association to become part of the DOC again, in keeping with his promise to have reinstated sporting associations that had been ousted by the previous committee. Doctrove had committed to doing so, during his campaign for President of the DOC, and has now reaffirmed that commitment to welcoming the Dominica Netball Association back under the wings of the DOC.
 
During a ceremony on Monday 19th June 2017, where the Australian Ambassador for Women and Girls was hosted by the Dominica Netball Association on Monday 19thJune 2017, Doctrove saidthe Dominica Netball Association had been an affiliate of the Dominica Olympic Committee, until it unfortunately lost its membership status.
 
Doctrove promised the netball association that they “will not be left alone in the wilderness” and that he will personally play the role of “watchdog” to ensure the association remains on the “straight and narrow”.
 
He added, “I have a lot of confidence in the team that is now at the helm of the netball association, led by the enthusiastic and energetic Regina Walsh, and I am hoping that they can get the support of the general body to propel the sport to new heights”. Doctrove stated that the DOC stands ready to play their part in ensuring this dream becomes a reality.
 
“Netball is an integral sport played in the Commonwealth countries and the Dominica Olympic Committee is responsible for preparing our athletes for the Commonwealth Games which incidentally will be held in Australia, the Gold Coast next year,” Doctrove said.
